Narration: Thus thought Shirakai Itsuo: To be the “fastest”.. is to be the strongest.

Narration: In his quest to become the “fastest” he proposed the following pose.
“This stance is one that creates the utmost propulsion toward the enemy, allowing for a slash while maintaining top speeds” he uttered.
Shirakai: And they laughed at me.. back then.
Narration: And as much was to be expected. The common held belief in swordsmanship and Iaijutsu, is that you need to firmly grip and swing the sword to retain its power output. Surmised, the proper way to hold the katana goes something like this. The standard grip positions the blade facing the metacarpal bones, which is only natural for ensuring a seamless transition from drawing to attacking.

Narration: The stance taken for the White Purity style is abnormal. For this reason, the sword must be rotated half a turn with your hand before reaching the target after the blade is drawn.
NPCs: You need a “ready stance” after drawing the sword?” Pfft. If the spirit power built in the sheathe gets interrupted, thats completely counter productive.

Rou: You’re coming to taste the very flaw of White Purity style. Most swordsmen can’t break free of the mindset of consciously channeling spirit power into their blades. Usually when you change hands or add some sort of complicated movement into the midst, your conscious gets distracted, and your spirit power, disturbed. Therefore there’s clear necessity in treating the sword as if it were a natural part of your being, and becoming one with that word through your spirit energy.
Rou: Well saying it makes it sound easy. But really, its a thing of intuition. The people who can manage to do this, I consider them perverse. The fact there’s only 3 people licensed in White Purity style is proof of that.
